Birka Bound

Birka Bound

Finding pieces that are 'archaeological' is a bit more challenging then it seems. Some of the pieces that exist are more 'Viking inspired' as in made from a fantasy world that never existed. True recreations are very rare to find, but Mosslyn was the most valuable asset in finding the charms to best suit this line.

These pieces are recreated from historical records, we have several papers that indicate what has been found in various graves throughout Northern Europe, most of them are not very easy to decipher in terms of meaning. In fact, early in building our lighthouse, we had the pleasure of publishing; Amulets by Kveldulf Gundarsson: https://shop.the3littlesisters.com/products/amulets-stones-herbs in which he provided a detailed guide to Amulets, which provided a great deal of information, this book allowed us to navigate which items would be more than likely most fitting in terms of being both historically accurate and spiritually meaning.

We hope that you enjoy these pieces, they were all hand picked by the lighthouse keepers and chosen to balance the historical accuracy and spiritual importance.
