Adornment has always been a form of armour and a way to declare one’s intention to the world. When we choose a charm or a specific bead color, we aren’t just making a fashion statement; we are crafting a personal totem. When I wrote; Riding the Bones and Summoning the Bones, there were two chapters dedicated to 'wearing appropriate fashion' or 'dressing for the gods' its a very common historical practice and one that heathens and pagans attempt to recreate.
Something 'happens' to you when you wear special garments or wear special pieces of charms. Honouring the seasons is one way we can 'wear our spirituality' by showing our connection to the movement of time and the gods that hold sway over celestial bodies.
The first charm for this line, is a beautiful gem sunburst. Sunna is a goddess that is seen as the sun (literally). Wearing her, is reminiscent of wearing, a sun disc. https://www.museum.ie/getmedia/588d4c64-22f9-4771-9e78-d2e1279eed7d/Summer-Sun-Discs-School.pdf and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egtved_Girl#:~:text=Aged%2016%E2%80%9318%20at%20death,metres%20(13%20ft)%20high. these show the importance of bringing the light of the sun into daily life.
