Vesna Kakasevski Stewart

Vesna Kakasevski Stewart is a European pagan author, journalist and blogger. Born 1981 in Belgrade Serbia, she is of Macedonian, Hungarian, German and Serbian ancestry. She was the founder of the first Asatru kindred in Serbia 20 years ago. She served as Odinsgydja until recently. She has studied the occult, European paganism, and magical symbolism for over 25 years. Vesna became a well known personality in the Serbian pagan community after founding and performing in the pagan neofolk band Days Of Yore as a song writer and lute player. She co-founded and wrote for a website about indigenous Slavic culture and spirituality called Stari Sloveni, which is still to this very day the most popular website on the subject. 

Vesna’s published books: Runes and Germanic Esoteria, Rodna Vera( Slavic Native Faith) A translation of the Norse Poetic Edda into Serbian language( in collaboration with fellow author Aleksandra Bajic). 

Vesna’s work on Television programs: The Ancient Slavs-History and Tradition and The Ancient Slavs-Religion and Mythology. 

Magazines and Publications: Editor and writer for Slava! magazine, Writer for Veles magazine, Writer for The Occult Review magazine, Writer for The Witch Review magazine, and several others. 

Vesna is the creator of the Slavic calendar, which tracks the old Slavic pagan holidays with Slavic folk magic symbols in a wheel pattern. For the calendar she uses Slavic symbols associated with the holidays, and or derived from traditional Slavic embroidery and other types of folk art. She offers trans-personal psychology courses using the Runes and or Slavic symbols as guides to self improvement. These days she’s focusing on Celtic tradition and spirituality, and has plans to eventually publish work on the subject.

Vesna is a Wife and Mother first and foremost, but she plans to continue writing and teaching for many years to come.
